October 2019 Convening on Affordable Housing

On October 24, 2019, the Tri-Valley Anti-Poverty Collaborative hosted its third community convening at Hub 925 in Pleasanton. Approximately 80 Tri-Valley residents and individuals representing county and city government, local non-profits, the faith community, school districts, and other groups attended the breakfast event. Speakers were Gloria Bruce, Executive Director of East Bay Housing Organizations and David Garcia, Director of Policy at UC Berkeley Terner Center for Housing Innovation. Both speakers discussed the challenges of meeting the Tri-Valley’s housing needs, policy wins and recommendations, and ways for everyone in the community to get involved. Event sponsors included Hub 925, Kaiser Permanente, Hacienda Helping Hands, and Supervisor Scott Haggerty.

The Tri-Valley Anti-Poverty Collaborative is a cross-sector collaboration formed to address issues of hidden poverty in the Tri-Valley Area.
