The Make A Difference for Pleasanton Festival will feature dozens of non-profit organizations. The annual event will take place at the Pleasanton Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on January 13.

Organizations will have tables set up with information on how to “Get Connected & Stay Connected” with the community through volunteer service for adults, families, and teenagers.

Among the options are helping to prepare and serve meals to neighbors in need, driving elderly neighbors to medical appointments, assisting a newcomer to learn English, helping visitors learn about local history, beautifying local public gardens, or organizing Special Olympics sports events among many others.

Visitors can sign a pledge card promising to spend at least 50 hours in community service and to spend 50 more hours with their own families.

While the festival is held in Pleasanton, many of the organizations serve the entire Tri-Valley. Volunteers can make a difference to the lives of people, animals, and organizations in need.
